Position Objectives:
The Town of Grantham, Cemetery Trustees, is accepting applications for the appointment of a Cemetery Sexton. This is a contracted position. The duties of the Sexton include, but may not be limited to:
- Laying out the lots and placement of grave markers in the cemeteries
- Coordinating grave preparation with funeral directors or other contractors
- Selling of cemetery lots
- Accurate maintenance of burial records
The time commitment is small but requires someone dependable. There could be some nights and weekends required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet with prospective families interested in purchasing plots in the town's one cemetery with remaining plots (Memorial), ensure cemeteries are well-maintained and respected spaces, and liaise with relevant personnel (groundskeepers, town employees, headstone companies, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
A sensitive demeanor and ability to listen and relate to people during what could be a difficult time are a plus.
Desirable Training and Experience:
None needed other than interpersonal skills, this is a very light duty.
